Surrey Brass at Claygate Arts Festival
7:30pm Wednesday 18th March 2020
Holy Trinity Church
Surrey Brass are delighted to announce they will be performing as part of the Claygate Arts Festival in 2020.
The concert at Holy Trinity Church is particularly important to Surrey Brass since was the venue for our very first concert in 2002, where we performed all the entries from our Golden Jubilee Fanfare contest in commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.
In another blast from the past, we anticipate the concert will be conducted by Robin Smith, who conducted that first concert and has retained associations with the ensemble ever since. Surrey Brass is delighted to return and look forward to performing a programme of innovative and entertaining music with something to please everyone.
The CVA has held successful biennial Music Festivals since 2006 and now wants to widen the scope to include all the arts, with a focus on home-grown talent. The new Arts Festival will be for and by local people, drawing on the wealth of existing arts activities and groups in Claygate, as well as creating some new ones. There will be exhibitions, performances, workshops, talks, walks, concerts, readings and more. The new Claygate Village Arts Festival will be inclusive, affordable and enjoyable for the whole community.
